Who: IHS Marching Band
What: Kick-off for the 40-team, 8-day, 2500 mile road rally to Bangor, Maine in support of a charity for missing children
Where: Independence Bandstand (seated)
When: Meet at 8:15 a.m. Perform from 8:30-9:45 a.m.
Wear: Full Marching Uniform (hats, no gloves)
Details: School will be open from 7:30-8:00 a.m. to get uniforms and instruments. Get own rides to and from the bandstand. Breakfast at McDonalds at 7:00? Anyone interested?

Friday Tailgate Dinner
The IHS PTO will have their annual Tailgate Dinner event on September 21, 2012, at the Independence Middle School cafeteria, from 3.30pm till 6.30pm.
Dinner selections include Pulled Pork or Meatball Sub Sandwiches for $7, Cheese Pierogi for $7, or Chicken Nuggets (kids) for $5. All selections include a tossed salad, dessert, beverage and choice of one side dish.
This is the biggest fundraiser for the entire school year and all funds raised will go towards the scholarship fund for our seniors. Please join us for dinner as a prelude to Homecoming 2012! Here is an Order Form to be completed and returned by 9/14/2012.
